The itineraries represent varying degrees of difficulty, indicated by a number from 1 to 6. The degree indicated accounts for the terrain, the distances and the prevailing winds. The proposed degrees are provided only as indications.
- Easy, flat route: presents little or no difficulty.
- Relatively easy route: includes some small valleys.
- Route of average difficulty: hilly, sometimes mountainous, against the wind and/or involving a longer distance.
- More difficult route: hilly and mountainous, with relatively major differences in grade and/or fairly long distances.
- Difficult route: requires major and repeated efforts.
- Very difficult route: requires constant efforts, repeated climbs (mountain passes) and a high degree of training.
